Long Time No Post
It’s been awhile….. trying to work my way though December. Time is flying and there is only tomorrow….. Let’s make it a good day today.
Where did summer go ?
Looking out the mist covered window this morning, it stuck me ‘where did summer go’?
In my youth summer lasted forever, endless days of asking the ‘what do you want to do ?’ question of your friends. By August we had run out of things to do.
In my middle years, time seemed to just get faster. Busy with work and such, I lost track of those endless summer years.
In my later years, summer passes as did fall, winter and spring with the quickness of time they pass.
This summer however will be the one that did not happen, rain, rain and more rain. No day above 90 degrees so far. It just did not feel like summer, fast slow or any other way.
Where did summer go, I long for those endless summer years.
Turn Around - written by Harry Belafonte (1959)
Where are you going my little one, little one
Where are you going my baby my own
Turn around and you’re two,
Turn around and you’re four
Turn around and you’re a young girl
Going out of the door
Turn around (turn around)
Turn around (turn around)
Turn around and you’re a young girl
Going out of the door
Where are you going my little one, little one
*Dirndls* and petticoats, where have you gone
Turn around and you’re tiny,
Turn around and you’re grown
Turn around and you’re a young wife
With babes of your own
Turn around and you’re a young
Turn around and you’re a young wife
With babes of your own
Where are you going my little one, little one
Where are you going my baby my own
Turn around and you’re two,
Turn around and you’re four
Turn around and you’re a young girl
Going out of my door
A Sunny Day
Oh for a sunny day…
clouds, rain, fog, mist
Oh for a sunny day…
gray, cold, damp, drizzle
Oh for a sunny day…
burst, explode, warm, sweet
Oh for a sunny day…
joy, peace, happiness, rest
Oh for a sunny day…
Could it be today???
Worry
We worry about money
We worry about work
We worry about relationships
We worry, worry, worry
We worry about ‘did I turn the oven off’
We worry about kids
We worry about the fate of the world
We worry, worry, worry
We worry about every blessed thing
Take a deep breath, pause, clear your mind
if just for a moment in time
Of Late
I often find myself wondering why ?
why do good people suffer ?
why do wars happen ?
why is there hunger ?
why is there not more joy in the world ?
why, why, why, why
why cry when you can smile ?
why is life so confusing ?
why are people so afraid ?
why, why, why, why
I don’t know why……
The Secret To Health
OK, so this is something you already know so there is no secret. There are really two ways to live your life after you turn fifty. Option one, live as most do, eat, drink, worry, work. Get up each day and do it again. This option leads to a slow decline in your health until death gets you hopefully in your eighties. The problem with this option is that you are slowing losing function over the course of those thirty years. Option two, make a commitment to exercise with vigor @ least 30 minutes a day, every day (don’t miss any, if you have to you can take one day a week off, no more). If you do this, your Health at eighty will pretty much be the same as you were at fifty.
